BACKGROUND
The subject project was awarded by the City Council on April 10, 2024. The contract has been satisfactorily completed by COPP Contracting, Inc. The original bid amount was $834,846.80, and the final contract amount was $914,344.64 which is 9.52% higher than the original contract amount. The reason for the additional cost includes the extra work of a new bus pad installation, extra asphalt thickness used for soft areas, and additional striping on Main and Maple at Locust Street.
The scope of work consisted of the removal and replacement of curb, gutter, cross-gutter, spandrel, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps with detectable warning surface (truncated dome), and driveway approach; grinding existing pavement and placing new asphalt concrete; adjusting manholes and water valves to finished grade; installing traffic signal loops and striping to match with existing configuration.
The project improved the pavement of the following 10 residential street segments. The location map is also attached to this report:
1. Main Street from Goldenwest Street to Chestnut Street
