RECOMMENDED ACTION
Recommendation
Accept the subject project and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder’s Office.

BACKGROUND
The subject project was awarded by the Mayor and City Council on February 14, 2024. The contract has been satisfactorily completed by Western State Builders, Inc. The original contract amount and final contract amount was $363,916.00.
The scope of work consisted of removing and disposing the existing concrete flatwork, playground equipment, footing, sand, and rubber playground surface; performing site grading; installing new concrete sidewalk, curb, playground equipment, rubber playground surface, and all appurtenant work in connection therewith.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total construction cost, in the amount of $363,916.00, for the contract with Western State Builders, Inc. is budgeted in the following account:
• Account Number, 76502-762203, “Playground Replacement at Newcastle Park”, in the amount of $363,916.00.
LEGAL REVIEW
The City Attorney’s Office has reviewed as to form.
CONCLUSION
The contract has been satisfactorily completed by Western State Builders, Inc. Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council accept the subject project and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder’s Office.
