BACKGROUND
In late June of 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its opinion in the case, City of Grants Pass, Oregon v. Johnson (603 U.S. __ (2024); No. 23-175).
Following this decision, the City Council asked staff to provide a brief presentation on the court’s ruling.
The City Attorney’s Office is prepared to make a presentation to provide an overview of the decision. It will also include a discussion about possible future concerns with the enforcement of anti-camping ordinances.
