BACKGROUND

The County of Orange is allocating additional funding for the Westminster Family Resource Center (WFRC). Funding includes an increase of $20,000 for Emergency Assistance services, and $100,000 for Family Stabilization services, which is provided by Subcontractor, Children’s Bureau.

These services are contractually obligated under the WFRC grant agreement and the additional funding will allow more clients to be served. Emergency Assistance services provide supportive resources to address basic needs. Eligible expenses include emergency food, clothing, diapers, medication, hygiene products, household items, transportation, payment assistance for accessing services, safety supplies, housing support, and utility assistance.

Family Stabilization services are designed to support specific families in the west region enrolled in the CalWORKs Family Stabilization Program. These services aim to help stabilize families through allowable expenditures such as transportation, motel and housing assistance, and essential needs, including hygiene products, emergency food, and household essentials.
