BACKGROUND

Pursuant to Section 2.04.010 of the Westminster Municipal Code, the City Council regularly meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Periodically, staff review the City Council meeting calendar for potential conflicts with holidays, City Hall closures, and conference attendance by a majority of the City Council.

During the August 13, 2025, special meeting, the City Council approved Mayor Chi Charlie Nguyen, Vice Mayor Carlos Manzo, and District 1 Council Member Amy Phan West to attend the upcoming Association of California Cities – Orange County (ACC-OC) 2025 Washington D.C. Advocacy Trip from October 20-23, 2025. In further review, staff has identified that the regularly scheduled meeting of October 22, 2025 will not have a quorum.

Staff is asking that the City Council consider cancelling the meeting of October 22, 2025 and rescheduling the meeting to Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Staff has confirmed, based on current availability, there will be a quorum on October 15.

Upon approval, the City Clerk’s Office will proceed with noticing as required by State law, as well as updating the City’s website calendar.
