BACKGROUND

At the June 24, 2026 regular meeting, Councilwoman Amy Phan West, District 1, requested an item be placed on a future agenda to consider sending a letter to County of Orange First District Supervisor Janet Nguyen, requesting that Westminster be considered for financial assistance related to funds recovered from former Supervisor Andrew Do.

At the meeting, Council Member NamQuan Nguyen, District 4, was erroneously omitted from the roll call vote. While the vote was recorded as 5-0, further review of the meeting video showed Council Member Nguyen did not vote.

In the spirit of Robert’s Rules of Order and to correct the error, the City Council is requested to make a motion to reconsider, which will allow the council members an opportunity to vote, including Council Member Nguyen.

FISCAL IMPACT

None.

LEGAL REVIEW

The City Attorney’s Office has reviewed as to form.

CONCLUSION

By reconsidering the vote, this will allow the City Council to accurately vote to place the item on the agenda, as well as correct the error made in recording the vote.
