BACKGROUND
At the August 26, 2026 City Council meeting, a motion was made by Vice Mayor Mark Nguyen, and seconded by District 1 Council Member Phan West, to place an item on the agenda to consider the removal of Tami Hammell from the Citizens Oversight Committee (Measures Y and E). This item is being presented for the City Council to discuss and consider.
Pursuant to Municipal Code section 2.42.030, committee members serve at the pleasure of the City Council, and removals “are entirely within the council’s discretion, and may be with or without cause.” Any member of the Citizens Oversight Committee may be removed by a majority vote of the city council.

None.
