RECOMMENDED ACTION

 

Recommendation

Conduct a second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 2621 entitled, “AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 17.500 APPLICATION, PROCESSING, AND FEES OF THE WESTMINSTER MUNICIPAL CODE, read by title only and waive further reading.

BACKGROUND

 

During the June 11, 2025 Regular City Council meeting, a motion was made to introduce the first reading of the Ordinance. The motion carried 5-0.

 

Per Government Code Section 36935, the Ordinance is being presented for second reading and adoption. If the City Council adopts Ordinance No. 2621, the City Clerk will certify its passage. The ordinance will become effective 30 days after its adoption.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

 

The fiscal impact of the recommended actions is minimal, and funds have been budgeted in Fiscal Year 2024-2025 in Account No. 100-12000-44070 (Advertising) and 100-12000-43090 (Contracts - Quality Code) to cover costs for publication and the Westminster Municipal code amendment(s).

 

LEGAL REVIEW

 

The City Attorney’s Office has reviewed as to form.

 

CONCLUSION

 

The City Council previously introduced the Ordinance for first reading. In order to finalize, the City Council must approve the second reading and final adoption of the Ordinance.
