BACKGROUND

IONNA, a joint venture established by leading automotive manufacturers including BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, is creating what they describe as North America’s premier charging network. The developer is constructing a new IONNA Rechargery and their first IONNA Flagship site. The project features 11 Level 3 DC fast-charging stations and a 24/7 convenience store at 6260 Westminster Boulevard. This property was previously occupied by the Westminster Cafe restaurant.

A new water easement is required for the developer to construct a new water line and fire hydrant to serve the new convenience store.  Due to the City water main location, the proposed water line for the development will be installed within the property of 6266 Westminster Boulevard, currently Motel 6. The property owner of 6266 Westminster Boulevard is granting a new 2,107.91 square foot easement along the northerly side of the property, west of Willow Lane. The Water Division has reviewed and approved the proposed water easement.

FISCAL IMPACT

None.
